My Tav over the games timeline
This was just something fun for me to do.
It's truly one of the most rewarding parts of playing Baldur's Gate 3: watching your player character, your 'Tav,' evolve throughout the epic journey. When I started my playthrough with Saren, my Half-Elf High Druid, I had no idea just how much she would change, not just in terms of abilities, but visually and narratively. It's more than just leveling up; it's about seeing their story etched onto them. For me, tracking Saren's evolution was a blast. From her initial look 'Before Infection,' you see a certain innocence or preparedness. But as the game progresses, especially 'Post Act III,' her appearance, hair, and even her chosen armor reflect the trials she's endured and the battles she's fought. Those battle scars aren't just cosmetic; they tell a tale of survival, of hard-won victories, and the weight of difficult choices. By the 'Reunion Party,' she looked like a seasoned hero, a far cry from her beginnings, and it was so satisfying to see that transformation. But character evolution in BG3 isn't just about what you see on the surface. It's deeply intertwined with the choices you make. Does your Tav embrace the tadpole's power, or resist it? Do they lean towards good, evil, or something in between? Each decision, each companion interaction, subtly shapes who they become. As a Druid, Saren's connection to nature deepened, influencing her decisions and her understanding of the world around her, far beyond just her spells. What I found really fun was paying attention to the smaller details that add to the character's story. Think about it: what would your Tav carry? My Saren, for example, had an assortment of intriguing items. A 'journal' speaks volumes – is she documenting her journey, her thoughts, or perhaps ancient lore? A 'lyre' suggests a love for music or performance, adding a layer to her personality. And even practical items like 'smoked pork' and 'spicy links' can hint at her survival skills or simply her favorite campfire meal after a long day of adventuring. Then there are the more delicate touches. A 'perfume bottle' might indicate a hidden vanity or a desire for solace amidst the grime of adventuring. 'Dried herbs' are perfectly fitting for a Druid, hinting at her remedies and connection to natural healing. And a 'bag with honeysuckle embroidery'? That's a beautiful detail that could signify a tie to home, a loved one, or a cherished memory she carries throughout her arduous journey. These seemingly small possessions paint a much richer picture of an 'evolved Tav' than just their stats or gear. So, if you're playing Baldur's Gate 3, I highly recommend taking moments to appreciate your Tav's evolution. Snap some screenshots, keep a mental note of their journey, and consider how every choice, every item, and every scar contributes to making them uniquely yours. It makes the 'Reunion Party' all the more meaningful when you see how far they've come!

this is such a cool idea!
