Starting a YouTube channel can feel like shouting into the void, especially when you're just beginning. I totally get it! Seeing my own channel with just 16 subscribers and 4.4K total views motivates me to find ways to connect and grow. While sharing links is a great first step, I've learned a few things that really help push past those initial numbers, like getting more than 76 views on a mini vlog! 1. Find Your Niche and Own It: When I first started, I was making all sorts of videos. Now, I try to focus on what I truly enjoy and what people seem to respond to. For example, my 'MINI VLOG| GROCERY SHOPPING + SHRIM...' video is part of a series I enjoy making. Think about what makes your content unique. Are you great at styling, cooking, tech reviews, or sharing daily life? Sticking to a core theme helps your audience know what to expect and keeps them coming back. It's like building your own little corner of the internet! 2. Master the Art of YouTube SEO (It's Easier Than You Think!): This was a game-changer for me. Simply having a great video isn't enough; people need to find it! I always try to use relevant keywords in my video titles and descriptions. For instance, if I'm doing a grocery haul, I'll include 'grocery haul,' 'budget shopping,' or 'weekly groceries' in my title and description. Don't forget your video tags! Also, creating an engaging thumbnail is crucial. That little snapshot is often the first thing people see. I'm always trying to improve my thumbnails โ they're like the cover of a book, they need to make people want to click! 3. Engage, Engage, Engage! YouTube is a community, not just a broadcasting platform. Iโve noticed that replying to comments, asking questions in my videos, and even checking out other small channels (like yours!) makes a huge difference. When viewers feel connected, theyโre more likely to subscribe and stick around. It's a two-way street; the more you interact, the more interaction you'll receive. Building those relationships is so rewarding. 4. Consistency is Key, But Don't Burn Out: It's tempting to upload every single day, but quality over quantity really matters. I try to set a realistic schedule for myself, whether it's once a week or every other week. This helps me maintain the quality of my content and avoid feeling overwhelmed. My analytics show that consistent uploads, even if it's just one video every week, slowly but surely build momentum. Plus, viewers appreciate a predictable schedule! 5. Promote Your Channel Beyond YouTube: Don't be afraid to share your videos on other social media platforms! I often post snippets or announcements on platforms like Lemon8 or Instagram. It helps bring new eyes to my content. While my current views might be modest, every share and every new viewer helps grow the channel. Remember, every big YouTuber started small!
