Jules Larsen, a 25-year-old woman who has just lost her job, has been cheated on by her boyfriend, and is about to become homeless. While in despair, she receives her dream offer to become an Apartment Sitter or room keeper in a luxury building called The Bartholomew in the middle of Manhattan, known for its luxury and mysterious history.

This job is very highly paid, and you can stay in a luxury apartment for free, but there are strange taboos, such as

* Guests are prohibited

* Do not freeze elsewhere

* Do not disturb residents.

* Must be ready in the building at all times

Despite feeling that these rules were strange, Jules accepted the job because she had no choice.

Soon she knew another young woman who worked the same job, Ingrid, but then Ingrid disappeared without a trace.

When Jules begins investigating, she discovers that Ingrid's disappearance may not have been the first, and that the building may have hidden a more sinister secret than ghost lore or murder.

For us, this book is a line that requires a lot of patience with the early part. The story is relatively slow, making it almost half a book to stick to the hand. But after the heroine goes to the library, everything starts to fall into place. The chances and puzzles gradually increase to the point. The second half is much more fun. The knot is good. The atmosphere is dull and dark. The ending is impressive. Although the rhythm of the story is not our favorite style, if reading through the early part, it should be fun with the second half as we feel. 📚
