The S.E.E.K. method:
It reminds me of how David was real with God and always came back to the truth that God is good and faithful and loving. So starting with being real and raw with God- literally the good the bad and the ugly and your praises to Him... I wrote it all down really and then be still, pray, or sometimes I've felt let to worship and it gets MY HEART in the right place so that when I get into the Word and study- I can absorb it better. Then the last part "know.proclaim.apply" I write down some truths I want to cling to and live out and SPEAK it out loud. There is something powerful about proclaiming it that has changed from knowing the Word to living the Word.
In my own experience, using the S.E.E.K. method during quiet time has truly transformed how I approach my daily devotion. Starting by being honest and open with God, just as King David did, creates a genuine space where I can bring both my struggles and praises without holding back. Writing down everything—whether it’s doubts, gratitude, or praise—helps me to process my thoughts and emotions clearly. I have found that spending time in worship after sharing my heart shifts my focus and prepares my spirit to receive God’s Word more deeply. Worship tunes my heart to God’s presence, making my Bible reading not just an intellectual activity but a personal encounter. When I move on to the "know.proclaim.apply" step, writing out key truths and speaking them aloud remarkably reinforces my faith. Proclaiming Scripture out loud has helped me internalize promises and directions that might otherwise remain abstract. The idea of proclaiming truths out loud resonates with the Biblical principle of faith activated by words. It feels empowering to transform knowing into living, which is essential for spiritual growth. Also, journaling these experiences serves as a testimony to reflect on later, reminding me of God’s faithfulness, safety, and blessings such as clean water, food, and friends—simple yet profound reasons to be thankful. If you are new to journaling your quiet time, I recommend starting small and focusing on this method. It’s not about perfection but honest encounter. Over time, this approach brings clarity, peace, and a deeper relationship with God. The S.E.E.K. journal is a practical tool to strengthen your walk by combining reflection, worship, study, and spoken declaration in one meaningful routine. Trying it consistently has genuinely made my spiritual life more vibrant and rooted in God’s word and love.
