homemade chocolate chip bread
This is my first time making homemade bread & when I tell you it is sooo easy to make, it really is! It smells amazing when you put it in the oven and let it bake. Most of y’all may have these ingredients in your kitchen right now!!
What you’ll need🛒:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk (any milk you want to use, I used whole)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (I used semi sweet)
- loaf pan (or if you want to make it into muffins you can - so use a muffin pan)
Let’s Put it All Together:
- preheat oven to 350 degrees
- in a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup granulated sugar, 2 cups flour, and 1 tablespoon baking powder, set aside
- in a large bowl, combine 1 large egg, 1 cup milk, 1/3 vegetable oil.. you can use a mixer, I honestly just used a whisk & mixed it that way
- gradually add in dry ingredients into wet mixture, stirring together until it’s all mixed together (I just used a spoon/spatula for this)
- fold in chocolate chips, but save about 1/4 cup for the top of the loaf
- pour batter in greased loaf pan until it’s about 2/3 full (or muffin pan if you make it into muffins), top with remaining chocolate chips
- bake for about 50-60 minutes (check it with a toothpick to ensure it’s done - the toothpick will come out clean if the bread is done)
