Throw back to 2019
I was the Wicked Witch in a musical and I fully went for it 🤣😂
At one point I put on Shrek ears and became a believer 😌
Junior year was the last Normal year I had and it keeps me wondering what would of happened if I was able to go Full time senior year.
Participating in a school musical like Wicked offers such a unique blend of excitement and personal growth. I remember how stepping into the character of the Wicked Witch not only allowed me to explore a fun and dramatic side of myself but also built my confidence in performing live. The experience of rehearsing lines, embodying the character, and connecting with fellow cast members created lasting memories that I cherish deeply. One moment that stands out was when I donned Shrek ears during rehearsals — it was a humorous break but also helped me bond with the cast and stay playful throughout the process. It’s funny how small details like that can lighten the mood and make the whole journey enjoyable. Looking back, my junior year was the last year before life changed drastically due to the pandemic. It was truly the last "normal" school year I experienced, filled with typical social events, performances, and daily routines. I often find myself wondering how different my senior year would have been if I could have attended full time and continued to engage in theatrical productions and school life uninterrupted. Being part of the MAG City Drama Club's production, written by Craig Sodaro, gave me a wonderful opportunity to dive into theater arts. If you ever get a chance to join your school’s drama club or a local theater group, I highly recommend grabbing the opportunity. The skills you learn and the friendships you build can be surprisingly impactful. Overall, looking back to 2019 reminds me of the joy and passion of performing arts, the camaraderie of school life, and the value of fully embracing roles both on stage and in life.
