Did anyone else Read this growing up?

#halloween2024 #lemon8contest

This was one of my favorite books growing up. I remember me & my friend would sit in the library reading a story to each other in like 5th grade lol

My favorite story was the bride who got trapped in the chest IN THE ATTIC while playing hide & seek on her wedding day only to end up trapped & ultimately dying! (Why would u hide in a chest IN THE ATTIC it’s never that deep 😔)

Ive talked to other friends about this book and they’ve NEVER read it! It’s so crazy to me bc all of these books were such a staple to me!

So I want to know if any of y’all read it & if y’all have which story was ur favorite/made a lasting impact on you?

... Read moreScary Stories to Tell in the Dark, a staple in the childhood of many, offers a mix of folklore and creepy narratives that still captivate readers today. This book, filled with haunting tales and eerie illustrations, created a generation of horror enthusiasts. The story about the bride trapped in an attic chest is just one of the many memorable narratives that evokes chills and sparks discussions among readers. For many, such stories ignited a passion for literature in a unique way, intertwining memories of reading sessions with friends or sharing scares during sleepovers. Engaging with fellow fans of these stories can reveal a wealth of favorite tales, each impacting readers differently. Some might recall the frightful anecdotes as evening entertainment, while others reflect on life lessons gleaned from the stories' twists and turns. Through these conversations, we celebrate not only the thrill of fear but also the bonds formed over shared reading experiences. If you remember these tales fondly, consider sharing your own story impacts and connecting with others who grew up with these eerie narratives. Explore how children's literature, particularly those with horror elements, can leave an imprint on our minds and shape our childhoods.

My sister had this book when we were kids. As a child they were definitely scary. I think there is a tv show or movie now based on them if I’m not mistaken. We used to read them while camping.
