I use the wear leggings 24/7, not anymore 😳

Leggings were always my go to choice of bottoms! I would dress them up, down, turn them into pjs or loungewear. Though recently I found out that it’s very unhealthy to constantly wear tight clothes; leggings, sports bras, tight jacket or long sleeve shirts, ect.

Wearing tight clothing causes blood flow restriction, varicose veins, hygiene related skin issues/infections, and acid reflux/bloating. For me, I use to wear leggings all the time and it eventually caused my pelvic floor/core to weaken over time, I started to get UTI’s more frequently, AND my leg hair started to become patchy whenever it grows in.

It doesn’t sound harmful to wear tight clothes all the time but it’s not healthy for us! I’ve become more cautious with what I wear and I no longer wear leggings to bed. I ordered nice loose pjs for bed!

Do you live in leggings like I use to? Or do you wear tight clothes for sports?

... Read moreConstantly wearing tight clothes like leggings, high-waisted pants, sports bras, and tight jackets may seem convenient and stylish, but it can negatively affect your health in multiple ways. Tight clothing can restrict blood flow, leading to problems such as varicose veins or swelling. This is because the pressure from fitted garments compresses blood vessels and slows circulation, especially in the legs. Moreover, tight clothes trap moisture and heat against the skin, creating an environment prone to irritation, chafing, and even fungal infections. Another concern involves the impact on the pelvic floor and core muscles. Wearing leggings or compression garments for extended periods can weaken these muscles by limiting their natural movement and engagement, increasing the risk of urinary tract infections and issues like acid reflux or bloating. Some may also notice discomfort or abnormal skin reactions, like patchy leg hair growth or frequent itching. To promote better health, consider alternating your wardrobe between tight and loose-fitting clothes. Opting for breathable, loose pajamas at night can improve hygiene, reduce bloating, and give your skin a chance to breathe, which is essential for overall wellness. When exercising, choose sportswear that provides support but does not overly constrict your body. Listening to your body's signals and allowing occasional breaks from tight fitting clothing encourages better blood flow and skin health. Many who have made these changes report feeling less bloated, experiencing fewer skin irritations, and enjoying improved comfort throughout the day. Simple lifestyle adjustments, like switching between leggings, sweatpants, and jeans, or wearing oversized tops at home, can make a significant difference. It’s all about balancing comfort, style, and health for long-term wellbeing.
