It’s hard to put into words what this journey has meant to me. Serving the children of Texas has been more than just a career—it’s been a purpose, a calling, and a true honor. I will deeply miss the work, the families, and the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life every single day.
While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a career that has meant so much, I’m also looking forward to slowing down, embracing new adventures, and enjoying the next season of life. 🌺

Retirement marks a profound milestone in life, especially after dedicating three decades to a meaningful career. Having served the children of Texas for 30 years, I want to share some personal insights on what this transition means beyond just stepping away from work. Throughout those years, the experience shaped not only my professional skills but also my values and sense of purpose. Each day presented opportunities to impact lives positively, an experience that can't easily be replaced. As I enter retirement, I find it important to reflect on how to keep that sense of fulfillment alive. One approach is to stay engaged in the community, perhaps through volunteering or mentoring, allowing me to continue contributing in a new way. Also, retirement is a chance to explore passions put on hold, whether it's traveling to parts of Texas I’ve never seen or dedicating time to hobbies that nurture creativity and relaxation. It's natural to feel a mixture of emotions—pride in accomplishments, sadness from leaving a fulfilling role, and excitement for the future. Accepting this emotional blend helps in embracing retirement as a new chapter rather than an end. Slowing down doesn't mean stopping; it means finding balance and joy in varied experiences.
