Disneyland Ride
I have never been able to ride this ride at Disneyland. I will be instantly sick. I have vertigo & rides that go round & round definitely will make me sick. Is it just me????
It's completely understandable to feel hesitant about rides like the Star Dancer, especially when you deal with vertigo. I relate so much! I've been to Disneyland countless times, and there are always those attractions that, no matter how much fun they look, are just a no-go for me because of how they spin or move. It’s definitely not just you; many people experience motion sickness on rides that go round and round. If you're like me and have never been on this particular ride at Disneyland because of concerns like vertigo, you're absolutely not alone. The Star Dancer ride, with its unique movements, can certainly be a trigger for some. The good news is, you don't have to miss out on the magic of Disneyland just because a few rides are off-limits! For managing motion sickness, I've found a few things really help me make the most of my park visits. One tip I swear by is wearing Sea-Bands or taking a non-drowsy motion sickness medication about an hour before I even step into the park. This pre-emptive strike can make a huge difference in keeping my stomach settled throughout the day. Staying well-hydrated and opting for light, non-greasy snacks over heavy meals also seems to help prevent that queasy feeling. Another strategy I often employ is trying to focus on a fixed point on the horizon or a distant object during a ride, if it’s one with mild movement. Sometimes, just closing my eyes can help too, but it really depends on the intensity of the ride. And obviously, for rides like the Star Dancer, which involve intense spinning or rapid changes in direction, I simply avoid them. Instead, I gravitate towards the slower, story-driven attractions or those with gentle, predictable movements. Think about classics like 'It's a Small World,' 'Pirates of the Caribbean,' or even the 'Haunted Mansion.' These offer incredibly immersive experiences and fantastic storytelling without the intense G-forces or spinning that can trigger vertigo. Even some of the dark rides like 'Peter Pan's Flight' are generally fine for me. It’s all about knowing your personal limits and listening to your body. So, for those who do enjoy the Star Dancer ride, what is it about the ride that you love so much? And for my fellow vertigo adventurers, what are your absolute go-to rides at Disneyland that won't leave you feeling dizzy? Do you like this ride, or are you like me and typically give it a pass? It's important to remember that Disneyland is a vast park, and there’s truly something wonderful for everyone, even if some of the more intense rides are off-limits. Finding your comfort zone allows you to make the most of the magic without ending up instantly sick or uncomfortable. While I might never experience the Star Dancer first-hand, I've still created countless amazing memories at the park by focusing on what I can enjoy!
