... Read moreHey everyone! 👋 So many of you have been curious about my Spider-Punk artwork, especially the crust punk rock style I’ve been exploring. It's been such a journey, and I’m thrilled to share a bit more about the inspiration and process behind these drawings! When I started sketching this Spider-Punk piece, I really wanted to capture the raw energy and rebellious spirit of Hobie Brown. For me, 'crust punk rock artwork' isn't just about a specific music genre, it's about an aesthetic – gritty textures, bold lines, strong messages, and that DIY ethos. You might have noticed the word 'ABOLISH' in some of my pieces; that's a direct nod to the punk movement's call for change and challenging the status quo. I find drawing in this style incredibly liberating, letting the ink flow and embracing imperfections. A lot of you also asked about the 'punk drawing' process itself. I usually start with loose, energetic sketches to get the dynamic poses right. Then, I move onto inking, focusing on creating that distinctive, angular, almost chaotic look that defines punk art. It's less about perfection and more about conveying emotion and attitude. I love using strong contrasts and heavy blacks to make the illustration pop, giving it that classic zine or album cover feel. And guess what? My favorite part has been seeing this art come to life on different products! When I drew the piece featuring 'I PUT MY ART ON STUFF,' it truly came from a place of wanting to share my passion beyond just digital files. It’s amazing to think that what started as a simple punk drawing in my sketchbook can now be a 'Spiderpunk Street Art Rolled Poster' hanging on someone's wall, or a set of 'Spiderpunk Custom Pin Buttons' adding flair to a jacket. Creating the 'Spiderpunk Graphic Tee' was particularly exciting. Seeing my design on a t-shirt makes it feel so much more tangible and accessible. It’s not just a drawing anymore; it's something people can wear and express themselves with. I really put a lot of thought into choosing merchandise that would best showcase the art and resonate with fellow punk and Spider-Man fans. The goal was always to offer high-quality items that truly celebrate the spirit of Spider-Punk. If you're an aspiring artist looking to dive into punk drawing or even thinking about putting your own art on products, my biggest advice is just to start. Experiment with different mediums, don't be afraid to break rules, and let your unique voice shine through. There's a huge community out there looking for authentic, passionate work. And remember, every drawing, no matter how small, is a step towards creating something amazing. I'm always looking for new ideas and ways to expand, so definitely keep an eye out for more!
