Losing a 5 year friendship...

Sometimes you just need to let them go. There is no point in holding them back. Forcing the friendship will just hurt you more. If necessary block them. It'll be better than obsessing to see if they as disappointed as you are about losing the friendship.

... Read moreLosing a five-year friendship can be one of the most emotionally challenging experiences in life. It’s often not just about the end of a relationship but about confronting change, loss, and personal growth. One important lesson from losing such a long-standing friendship is understanding when it's time to let go. Holding onto a friendship that no longer serves both people can cause more harm than good. Forcing contact or trying to salvage a relationship in which feelings of disappointment or distance dominate leads to unnecessary stress and emotional pain. If you find yourself obsessing over whether your friend feels as hurt as you do, it may be healthier to create space. Sometimes, blocking or unfollowing people on social media can act as a protective measure, preventing your mind from fixating on what has been lost. This isn’t about revenge or bitterness—it’s about self-care and moving forward. Another valuable insight from losing a five-year friendship is the importance of reflection. Consider what you learned about yourself and interpersonal connections during your time together. Every friendship, regardless of how it ends, shapes your understanding of trust, communication, and empathy. These lessons can prepare you and enrich future relationships. Lastly, grieving the loss of a friendship is normal. Allow yourself to experience the sadness but also remind yourself that friendships evolve. Some are seasonal, serving different purposes at different times. Recognizing this natural ebb and flow can help you accept the situation with compassion—for both yourself and your friend. Moving on doesn’t mean forgetting; it means honoring the memories and embracing new possibilities ahead.

Correct! I dropped one of my besties twice, after giving her a second chance. It was just as awful the second time. We need to learn to trust our guts and say no for our own inner peace!

I agree with u on this!! There’s people that are going to stay the entire trilogy while others may just be included for a few chapters. Theres nothing wrong with it, just a part of life that has played out!!
