✨Day 2 - Creation Declares God’s Glory

Psalm 19: 1-4 (see CCC 32 & 54)

The heavens are telling the

Glory of God;

and the firmament proclaims

His handiwork.

Day to day pours forth speech,

and night to night declares

Knowledge.

There is no speech, nor are

There words;

their voice goes out through

all the earth,

and their words to the

end of the world.

KEY POINTS:

God is a God who reveals himself; He is not distant nor hidden. He reveals Himself through creation, scripture and commandments.

CREATION REFLECTS ITS CREATOR:

Beauty reflects God’s goodness

Order reflects God’s wisdom

Power reflects God’s majesty

Light reflects God’s truth

PRAYER:

Lord 🤲🏽,

Open my eyes to your glory on creation. Help me to see your beauty in the world around me. Teach me to listen for your voice in silence, in wonder, and in the ordinary moments of my day.

Amen 🙏🏽 ✝️

... Read moreStepping out into nature has always been a source of peace for me, but it wasn't until I started my daily Bible study focused on creation that I truly began to see God's handiwork in every leaf, every cloud, and every sunrise. It's like a daily Bible study comes to life when you connect scripture with the world around you. Beyond the beautiful words of Psalm 19, which remind us that “the heavens are telling the glory of God,” there are so many other passages that deepen this understanding and strengthen our faith. Take, for instance, Job 12:7-10, which says, "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind." This verse is a powerful reminder that God's presence and power are so undeniable that even creation itself testifies to it. When I’m feeling overwhelmed or doubtful, looking at the intricate design of a flower or the vastness of the ocean brings me back to the undeniable truth of a Creator who is infinitely wise and powerful. Romans 1:20 further reinforces this, explaining, "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." This isn't just about admiring beauty; it's about recognizing the profound spiritual truths embedded in the natural world. For me, these moments of recognition are incredibly grounding. They help me combat the anxieties and negative thoughts that sometimes creep in, reminding me that God's power, which brought forth all this wonder, is also at work in my life. And when we consider the challenges we face, whether spiritual or worldly, this perspective becomes even more vital. The phrase "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13) resonates deeply when I reflect on God's omnipotence displayed in creation. If God can orchestrate the vast cosmos, paint the sky with vibrant hues, and ensure the delicate balance of ecosystems, then surely, He can provide the strength I need to overcome any obstacle. Seeing His immense power in nature helps me trust that He is more than capable of strengthening me through any trial, giving me resilience against despair or defeat. This daily process of seeing God's glory in creation isn't just a passive observation; it's an active way to engage with my faith. It’s a daily Bible study that goes beyond the pages, into the world, helping me to truly listen for God’s voice in silence, in wonder, and in the ordinary moments of my day. It helps me remember that I am held by a Creator whose love and power are beyond measure.
