WIP Wednsday
Coming into the new year, I have 6 projects that I started and didn't complete in 2025.
Plaid Jacket: I will probably start over because the stitches are too tight. Mosaic Bottom Up Sweater: I will have to remember the mosaic pattern. Pride Tank: I will have to remember the lace pattern, too. A Scarf for Work: I'm trying to figure out the bind-off technique. Birthday Hoodie: I will finish this regardless of the season. Lastly, My Mother's Cardigan: I promise this to her in early 2025... My only goal for 2026 is to complete these projects. #WIPWednesday #Crochet #Knit #2026
Starting multiple crochet and knitting projects simultaneously can be a rewarding yet challenging experience. I’ve found that organizing each project by its unique patterns and techniques helps maintain focus and motivates completion. For example, the plaid jacket I’m rethinking due to tight stitches shows how stitch tension critically affects the final product’s appearance and comfort. Remembering complex designs like the mosaic pattern for the bottom-up sweater or the chevron lace for the pride tank requires reviewing pattern notes frequently. I jot down key stitch sequences to ensure I don’t lose track during busy days. Moreover, learning bind-off techniques, especially for my double-knit scarf, has been essential to achieving a clean and professional finish. One of my personal incentives is finishing my mother’s striped cardigan—a heartfelt promise I made to gift her in early 2026. This meaningful goal keeps me dedicated even during slow progress periods. The birthday hoodie, complete with pockets and a hood, is another project I’m determined to complete regardless of seasonal timing, as it’s both practical and personal.
