Blood Offerings๐Ÿฉธโ™ฅ๏ธ

I hadn't done one of these yet for my newest book, but they're so fun to put together! Silas & Lucette are one of my favorite couples that I've written (Not including couples from The Creatures series). They both come with complicated baggage, but neither cares in sharing the weight. Silas is coy and bashful, but filled with love. Lucette is passionate and blunt, but wanting a life with someone who can understand. And, of course, there's Vesper who is loyal, fiercely protective, and fueled by desire. It has been a lovely detour while I needed a break from working on Book Three of The Creatures series....which I am now back onto writing! #darkromancebooks #darkromance #booktok #gothicromance #newbooks

... Read moreYou know, when I started writing 'Blood Offerings,' I found myself diving deep into themes that might resonate with anyone intrigued by 'how to speak with the dead.' While my book isn't a practical handbook on ghostly communication, it certainly explores the profound connections that defy life and death. The idea of love reaching across the veil, of whispers from those we've lost, is incredibly potent, especially in dark romance. For Silas and Lucette, their journey is fraught with complicated baggage, but it's also about understanding and acceptance, even when dealing with forces that might feel otherworldly. I often think about what it truly means to have a love so strong it transcends conventional boundaries. Is it a bond that allows you to feel a presence, almost hear a voice, even when someone is gone? That's the essence I tried to capture in their story. When creating the world of 'Blood Offerings,' I drew inspiration from classic gothic literature, much like the mood evoked by a misty forest or a full moon casting shadows. You see elements like a skull on moss or pentagrams in the aesthetic collages, and these aren't just for show. They're symbols of the deeper magic and ancient traditions that permeate the story. It's about characters grappling with their own inner demons โ€“ sometimes quite literally, as with the idea of a 'sinful demon' โ€“ and finding solace or peril in the supernatural. The allure of forbidden love, love that defies societal norms or even the laws of nature, is something that fascinates me. My characters, like Vesper, are fiercely protective and driven by desire, pushing the boundaries of what's considered conventional. This often leads them into situations where they might wish for a 'practical handbook' on navigating the unknown! If you're browsing for books like 'How to Speak with the Dead' because you're captivated by the mysteries of the afterlife or the possibility of communication beyond our realm, then 'Blood Offerings' offers a fictional exploration of those very themes, wrapped in a passionate romance. Itโ€™s not about giving instructions, but about immersing yourself in a narrative where those supernatural undertones shape destiny and desire. Think less 'how-to' guide, and more 'what if' story, where love can be as strong as any spectral force. Itโ€™s been a blast weaving these elements together, and I hope you find the journey as compelling as I did writing it!
