At the end of the day we have way bigger issues to worry about than Africans and Black Americans fighting each other online. š Iād rather learn from each other, share culture, recipes, stories, and experiences than argue in comment sections all day.

Reflecting on the tensions between Africans and Black Americans that many, including myself, didn't realize existed, I believe the focus should shift from conflict to connection. Online arguments can feel draining and often divert attention from larger issues we need to address collectively. From my own experience, embracing cultural exchange has been enriching. Sharing favorite recipesāfrom jollof rice to soul foodāopens doors to conversations about heritage and identity that go beyond stereotypes. Storytelling, whether through videos, TikToks, or personal anecdotes, helps humanize our shared history and celebrate our diversity. Platforms like #BlackTikTok and #DiasporaTok have created spaces where these interactions thrive, encouraging positive cultural conversations. Moreover, by learning from each other's experiences and challenges, we build empathy and solidarity. This unity not only strengthens our online community but also empowers us to tackle social and systemic issues together with greater resilience. So instead of engaging in divisive debates, I encourage everyone to explore these cultural connections and appreciate the richness we each bring to the table.
