The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing, filled with the energy of countless teen cheer girls and college cheerleaders from across the nation, all in their vibrant uniforms, ready to give their all. Months of relentless practice, early mornings, and late nights perfecting stunts and cheers in our red and white JEFF uniforms – it all led to this moment. Seeing the iconic ESPN globe sign, taking selfies outdoors with my team, and just soaking in the camaraderie with other squads was exhilarating. Every corner held a new photo opportunity, a new memory waiting to be made. There was a palpable sense of excitement mixed with nervous energy as we prepared for our turn on the mat. The UCA banner proudly displayed everywhere reminded us of the prestige and effort involved in simply being there. Stepping onto that mat for prelims, you could feel every heart beating in unison. We gave it our absolute all, every jump, every lift, every cheer echoing through the complex. The cheers from our supporters and the focus of our team were incredible. Not making it past prelims was, of course, a tough pill to swallow. There’s always that initial sting of disappointment when your competitive journey ends sooner than you hoped. But looking around at my teammates, seeing their faces, and knowing we did it together – that’s when the real meaning of UCA cheer truly hit me. UCA isn't just about winning a trophy or making it to finals; it's about the growth, the discipline, and the unbreakable bond you form with your cheer sisters. It's about learning resilience, pushing past limits, and supporting each other no matter the outcome. We huddle together, sharing laughs and tears, creating memories that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. Posing by the UCA banner, celebrating small victories, or just being silly together – these are the moments I’ll cherish far more than any score. For teen cheer girls and college cheerleaders like us, UCA Nationals is a significant milestone. It's a chance to showcase our passion, represent our school, and be part of a larger community that shares the same unwavering love for cheerleading. So, yes, we didn't get the top spot, but my heart is overflowing with pride for this team. We are more than just a squad; we are a family, and that, to me, is the ultimate win from our UCA Nationals journey at Disney.
