... Read moreHey everyone! I know how daunting it can feel to start a Bible study, especially if you're a beginner. When I first began, I was looking for something simple yet meaningful, something that wasn't overwhelming. That's why I put together this little guide, and I wanted to expand on it a bit to make it even more practical for you all. Think of this as your personal, free mini-lesson plan that you can even print out and use as a journal prompt! One of the verses that truly transformed my perspective was Psalm 139:14: 'I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.' This isn't just a beautiful phrase; it’s a profound truth! Taking the time to reflect on this really helped me understand my worth comes from being a child of God. Have you ever taken a moment to truly appreciate how God made you unique? What are three things you genuinely love about yourself, knowing they are part of God's wonderful design? Writing these down can be such a powerful exercise in self-acceptance and gratitude. Another verse, Jeremiah 29:11, reminds us, 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.' This verse always brings me so much peace. It helps me remember that God is with me, even when life feels hard. He has a purpose for each of us. Can you think of a moment—big or small—where you felt God's guiding hand, or knew you were directed by God's plan? Sharing these moments, even just with yourself in a journal, can strengthen your faith immensely. To make this a more interactive 'lesson,' let's add some more reflective questions. My original guide mentioned 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to 'pray without ceasing.' Prayer is an amazing way to communicate and grow in relation with Jesus. What are some specific things you want to pray for this week? Instead of just thinking about them, try writing out your prayers every so often. It's amazing how much clearer your thoughts become. And remember Philippians 4:4, 'Rejoice in the Lord always.' You can receive pure joy from God's unchanging goodness, even in tough times. What three things are you thankful for right now? Take a moment to praise God for them. The Bible also teaches us about reflecting God's love. Matthew 22:39 tells us to 'love your neighbor as yourself,' and Matthew 5:16 encourages us to 'let your light shine before others.' This means aiming to do random acts of kindness. It doesn't have to be grand; a simple smile, a kind word, or helping someone can make a huge difference. How can you shine for Jesus this week? What small act of kindness can you perform today? God gives us strength to face any challenge, just as Nehemiah 8:10 says, 'the joy of the LORD is your strength.' Recognizing how God is working in your life, even in the smallest ways, can empower you to be bold in faith and point others to God. This guide is meant to be a flexible tool. Feel free to incorporate other scriptures that speak to you, or even explore passages like John 12:2-3 if you're curious about different aspects of faith and discipleship. The beauty of Bible study is that it’s a personal journey. Just remember to approach it with an open heart and a desire to learn and grow. Happy studying!
