I cut my own Hair
👍Pros: im a HUGE DIY girlie, i thought why not try to give myself a haircut i could potentially save myself $80. Turned out looking great 😊
🤔Cons: it took me about 40 minutes because you have to properly section your hair and i almost broke my neck doing this haha. Also worst case scenario looks like 💩 but at least its my own fault because of my impulsive decision making
⭐️Overall rating: /5: 4/5 i loved the cut but my neck was seriously cramped afterwards 🤣
Anyway what do you guys think?

After my recent adventure cutting my own hair, I've realized there are so many of us out there wondering, 'Can I really cut my own hair?' and 'How do I even start?' It's a tempting thought, especially with the cost of salon visits these days! My initial attempt was driven by wanting to save $80, and while I loved the result, I learned a ton about the process – and the potential pitfalls. If you're diving into the world of DIY haircuts, especially for women, it's crucial to have a game plan. Many people search for specific techniques like the '4 ponytail haircut method.' While I didn't strictly follow that particular technique (which some associate with stylists like Brad Mondo), the core idea of careful sectioning is absolutely key. For those unfamiliar, the 4 ponytail method typically involves gathering your hair into several ponytails – usually one on top, two on the sides, and one at the nape of the neck – and then cutting the ends of each ponytail straight across. This is supposed to create natural-looking layers and shape. It sounds simple, but getting those ponytails perfectly even and positioned correctly can be a challenge. From my own experience, and what I’ve gathered from others, here are a few things to consider if you're thinking about cutting your own hair: Invest in Good Tools: Don't use kitchen scissors! Sharp, professional hair-cutting shears make a huge difference. They prevent split ends and give a cleaner cut. A good comb, hair clips for sectioning, and a handheld mirror are also essential. Start Small: This is probably the most important piece of advice. You can always cut more, but you can't put hair back. Take off just a little bit at a time, especially if you’re trying a new style like a wolf cut or adding layers. Sectioning is Your Best Friend: I mentioned how much time I spent sectioning, and for good reason! Proper sectioning ensures an even cut. Whether you're doing a simple trim or a more complex layered look, clean sections will guide your scissors and prevent uneven patches. Work with Your Hair Type: Straight hair shows imperfections more easily than wavy or curly hair. If you have textured hair, consider cutting it dry in its natural state to see how it truly falls. For straight hair, damp hair is often easier to work with. Watch Tutorials (Even if You Don't Follow Them Exactly): Watching how others approach DIY haircuts can give you valuable insights into technique, body positioning (to avoid that neck cramp I got!), and how to handle different sections of hair. Look up videos for 'how to give yourself a haircut women' or specific styles like 'wolf cut' to get ideas. Be Patient: It’s not a race. My 40-minute cut felt long, but rushing would have led to disaster. Take your time, re-check your sections, and step back frequently to assess your progress. Manage Expectations: A DIY haircut might not look salon-perfect on your first try, and that's okay! The goal is to get a decent result, save some money, and have a fun, empowering experience. Worst case scenario, a professional can always fix it, but often, with a bit of care, you can achieve something you're really happy with. Ultimately, cutting your own hair can be a rewarding experience. It gives you control over your style and can save you a pretty penny. Just remember to do your research, be patient, and embrace the DIY spirit!
