This journey has been a mix of hard work, dedication, and a little bit of anxiety, but seeing that 'Pass' result made every moment worth it. From the very beginning, I knew becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant was for me. I even had a vision board to keep my goals in sight – seeing 'CNA' and 'Pass' every day really helped me stay motivated. Preparing for the Written Test was a significant part of this journey. I spent countless hours reviewing study guides, going through practice questions, and making sure I understood all the core concepts. It’s not just about memorizing facts; it’s about grasping the 'why' behind patient care. I found that creating flashcards and joining online study groups were super helpful for me. The actual test day was nerve-wracking, to say the least. Walking into the testing center, my heart was pounding, but I took a deep breath and reminded myself of all the hard work I’d put in. When the results flashed on the screen saying 'Pass,' it was one of the happiest moments! The OCR confirmed my Score and the 'Pass' for this essential part of the exam, which was such a relief. But as the official document stated, passing the Written Test is just one step. In order to obtain my full CNA certification, I still needed to pass the Clinical Skills Test. This part felt even more intimidating because it’s hands-on. We were evaluated on various skills, from proper hand hygiene and taking vital signs to providing personal care like peri-care and transfer techniques. My strategy for this was constant practice. I teamed up with classmates, practiced on mannequins, and even rehearsed the steps in my head over and over again. It’s all about precision, safety, and demonstrating compassion. Now that both tests are successfully behind me – yes, both the Written and Clinical Skills Tests are passed! – the next step is waiting for my name to be added to the NY Registry. The thought of my official certificate being mailed to me is just thrilling. This isn't just a piece of paper; it's a gateway to new opportunities and a chance to make a real difference in people's lives. For anyone out there on their own CNA journey, keep pushing! It’s challenging, but incredibly rewarding. Stay focused, practice diligently, and believe in yourself. You can pass too!
