Name a kids toothpaste and I’m 99.9% sure we have bought it and tried it over the years. There’s so many flavors, brands, and types it can be a tad overwhelming. The most important thing is just to be brushing, the rest is just preference and if you have a lot of kids like us, there may be multiple flavors in the drawers.
we’re still torn in fluoride to be honest at this point; for ourselves and also for our kids. We know it’s good but they are also uncovering some not so good stuff so we kinda go between the two and switch it up. There’s been some really cool news coming out about HYDROXYAPATITE. Hydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring mineral that makes up 97% of our tooth enamel and has been scientifically-proven to whiten, strengthen, and protect your teeth without fluoride. But like I said we kinda go between the two; and usually I buy whatever is on sale or ships fastest.
Our favorite brands of Hydroxyapatite are Dr Brite and also Boka, both haven’t let us down in the flavor department which is super important with kids. If it doesn’t taste good you know it will sit unused and be a complete waste of money. Our favorite from DB is the Berrylicious and our favorite from Boka is the Orange Cream. Honestly I use the orange when it’s in our bathroom and I love it. These two aren’t sold in stores so that is the downfall. They also both retail at $12 a bottle so it’s clearly more expensive choice but the fact it rebuilds enamel makes it worth every penny.
In the fluoride department, we love the brand called Hello. Not only can it be bought in stores (typically walmart and target) but the price point is about $6. Always remember though, just because it’s a “better price” doesn’t mean it’s a score all around. Do your own research and decide what you feel is best. For us that’s going between these three and not really over thinking it from there.
