Girl, These Phrases Are Emotional Abuse! 😤💖
I never realized how much those "casual" comments were chipping away at my confidence. 💔 Constantly doubting myself, hiding my emotions, feeling like I was too much... sound familiar? 🥺 Healing came when I recognized the pattern and chose to break free. 🦋 Your peace is worth protecting, beautiful! 🌟 #BreakTheCycle #EmotionalFreedom #SelfDiscovery #GirlTalk #YouAreEnough

![A light blue slide with dark text: "I feel [emotion] when [behavior], and I need [need]." It explains this phrase shifts blame to vulnerability and promotes clarity. An example is provided. Also, “Well, you shouldn’t have reacted then.” Or, “I’m sorry that you reacted that way.” “I’m sorry that you made me get mad.” I could go on. “I’m sorry that you made me feel this way.” My former husband was the king of abusive comments. “Maybe if you didn’t do that, I wouldn’t be mad.” “Quit yelling”, when I’m not even raising my voice…. Laughing at me and telling me, “Good luck getting me out of your house/getting me to leave.” “You’ll have to file a restraining order to get me to leave.” Ha ha ha (Laughing at me) He was a bad person, but went to church so he thought he was holier than everyone and told me how I would burn in hell bc I have tattoos or bc I had an abortion once. It goes on and on. But this was all a long time ago and I did get him out of my house. He didn’t get our kids like he tried to do so many times by taking me to court, trying to accuse me of being on drugs, and sending me for surprise drug tests, hair drug test that wasn’t even accepted by the courts, so many things to just Fk with my head. But it didn’t work and he ended up moving out of state & a few years later (he’s been gone 7 years now) he eventually had a heart attack and that was the end of his story. Don’t ever be afraid to leave an abusive relationship. No one deserves it.
