Not Every Run is Pretty!

This run and the splits were atrocious: not because 11’42 is an unacceptable pace, but because I prepared very poorly and decided on the distance impulsively. I ran in a different area that I was unaware had extreme hills and no sidewalks, I was dehydrated, and I could not pace myself for the life of me. My pace ranged from 6’17 to 20’32, and I had to stop so many times to not get hit by cars, because I ran up a 100ft hill and was winded, because I had to wait for the light to change, etc.
But the win here is that I completed my Sunday Runday, I didn’t make excuses or quit I kept going, and while I was only meant to run 32 minutes I pushed myself (I had to keep running to get back where I started) to run 48 mins and 4 miles. Very proud and while next week I will aim to have more control, it’s important to embrace the bad days with the good, and to always keep moving forward!
