DIY from labubu to zimomo
Took one of my labubu macarons and DIYed it into Zimomo. Spent my 4 days🥲🥲🥲
I've been a huge fan of the Pop Mart Monsters series for a while, especially the adorable yet mischievous Labubu and Zimomo figures. There’s something so captivating about their designs, from Labubu’s signature grin to Zimomo’s unique, often furry, appearance with those distinct golden star-like eyes. Like many collectors, I've spent my fair share of time trying to get specific figures, sometimes even eyeing those coveted large size Labubu or unique Zimomo editions. But let's be honest, collecting blind boxes can be a gamble, and sometimes the secondary market prices for rare Zimomo, or even specific Mokoko figures, can get quite high. I found myself thinking, 'What if I could create the exact Zimomo I wanted?' That's how my DIY journey began – transforming one of my Labubu figures into a custom Zimomo. The idea was simple: take an existing Labubu macaron figure and give it a complete Zimomo makeover. This wasn't just a quick paint job; it felt like a true artistic endeavor that stretched over four days. I knew I wanted to capture Zimomo's iconic look, specifically the furry texture, big eyes, red nose, and wide smile that make it so distinctive, just like the amazing figures you see on display stands. The biggest challenge was definitely achieving that furry effect and ensuring all the details, especially those expressive eyes, looked just right. It involved careful layering and sculpting tiny details. If you're thinking about trying a Labubu box DIY project like this, patience is truly your best friend! There were moments I wondered if I could pull it off, but seeing the vision slowly come to life was incredibly motivating. Many people ask about the difference between Zimomo and Labubu, or even 'zimomo vs labubu'. While they both belong to The Monsters series by Pop Mart, Zimomo often has a slightly more beast-like, yet still endearing, appearance, frequently sporting fur or a more textured look compared to Labubu’s smoother finish. My project aimed to highlight these Zimomo characteristics on a Labubu base. Then there's the question of 'how much is zimomo labubu' or 'zimomo labubu price'. These figures can vary wildly in price depending on rarity, whether it's a secret chase figure (like a 'labubu doll secret' or 'labubu doll mystery'), or if it's part of a limited 'labubu series' or 'zimomo box' set. Sometimes, customizing an existing figure, especially if you already own a duplicate, can be a more budget-friendly and personal way to get that specific look you're dreaming of, rather than endlessly searching for a rare edition or paying premium prices. For anyone considering their own Pop Mart customization or 'Labubu box DIY', my biggest tip is to start with a clear vision and gather your reference images. Don't be afraid to experiment with different materials to get the texture you want – whether it's modeling clay for sculpting features or special paints for that furry effect. Seeing my custom Zimomo, with its newly sculpted red nose and wide smile, standing proudly on its display stand, makes all those four days of meticulous work totally worth it. It's more than just a toy; it's a piece of art I created, reflecting my passion for these fantastic characters. It's a wonderful way to add a truly unique piece to your Pop Mart collection and express your creativity. Who knows, maybe your next project will be a 'hirono popmart' customization or even a 'mokoko' transformation! Happy crafting!
