SICK OF SOUNDING SICK? HERES WHAT I DID 🤧💖

Let’s talk mucus.

Not cute. Not aesthetic. But soooo real.

For the longest time, I had a nasally voice, constant post-nasal drip, and sounded like I was battling a cold year-round. My default vibe was “congested girl with a cute outfit and a tissue up her sleeve.” 💁‍♀️

Sniffling through convos?

Clearing my throat mid-sentence?

Re-recording voice notes 5x because I hated how I sounded??

It became such an insecurity.

At one point, I genuinely thought this was just how I had to live. Spoiler: it’s not.

I started paying attention to what triggered the mucus overload—and slowly, I started fighting back. Here's what’s helped me de-mucus my life, one day at a time:

—————————————————————————————

🧠 Step 1: You’re Not “Just Congested”

Chronic mucus is a symptom, not your personality. Mine was linked to inflammation, poor digestion, dairy (srry cheese girlies), and random allergens I was ignoring. Once I clocked that? Game. On.

—————————————————————————————

🌿 Step 2: Reduce the Triggers

🧀 Dairy: I cut wayyy down. It’s still in my life, but not in an “every latte, every day” way. My body thanks me.

🍞 Wheat + sugar overloads: I noticed flare-ups after certain meals

🛏 Dust/mold/allergens: Keeping my space CLEAN and using an air purifier

☕ Caffeine overload: weirdly made it worse for me sometimes?? Still investigating

—————————————————————————————

💦 Step 3: Add the Remedies That Helped

✨ Steam face & sinus rinse : Yes, I turned into that person. And no, I don’t regret it. Immediate relief.

✨ Ginger + lemon shots in the AM

✨ Mullein tea : For herbal support with results. Way less throat gunk in the morning.

✨ Magnesium + digestive enzymes (Not mucus-specific, but my digestion improved and I noticed less congestion after meals. Coincidence? Maybe. Still doing it.)

✨ Tongue scraping + oil pulling : Is it ancient wellness lore? Probably. Do I feel clearer after? 100%. It sounds so wrong, but TRUST ME… it works wonders!

—————————————————————————————

🎤 Step 4: Get Over the Voice Insecurity

I used to cringe at how nasally I sounded. Now? I speak confidently even if I’m slightly congested. But the truth is—taking care of your system from the inside out does shift your voice over time. It’s not overnight, but it’s happening.

—————————————————————————————

If you’ve been living in a mucus fog and silently suffering (literally), you’re not alone.

I see you. I sniffled with you. I’m healing with you. 💖

🧃 And if you’ve got any anti-mucus hacks? SPILL. I’m still taking notes.

Regarding coffee: mold is present during the growing and harvesting processes; if not cleaned properly, coffee beans can be sold containing mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are known to cause respiratory and allergy issues, as well as brain fog and digestive issues. Purchasing brands with low- to no-mold guarantees can be a good way to cut down on mold exposure from your coffee habit. But if you also make sure that your coffee is being stored in airtight containers in a cool dark area. Also, make sure the machines that are making your coffee are cleaned regularly. Hot temps and moisture can breed mold even if the coffee is top notch mold-free.
