my photography needs 📸

I currently got a new camera from Ebay (let’s not talk about the price). I am hoping to get it between Monday and Wednesday 🤞🏽. I am going bowling with some friends 👀🤭, and I want to take photos since I love taking photos of people and I also want to record us having a great time with each other. I love being the photographer friend 😂.

I got this case from Amazon and thought it was cute! It came in many different colors but surprisingly I picked white! It looks more like a creamy color than white so I am excited about that! You can never go wrong with buying an SD card. I love using Sandisk’s! They are always so good and never disappoint. I am debating about getting a tripod because I do have a few but that idea is on hold for the moment. 🩷.

... Read moreOkay, so my new Canon PowerShot SX730 HS finally arrived, and I'm practically buzzing with excitement! There’s nothing quite like being the designated photographer among friends – capturing those genuine laughs and unforgettable moments. My last post mentioned getting ready for a bowling night, and I've been thinking non-stop about all the fun 'snap ideas' we can try to make those memories last. First, let's talk gear. That 'cute white case' I snagged from Amazon? It's not just for looks – protecting my new baby is crucial! It's super snug and feels great in hand. And an SD card is non-negotiable. I always go for Sandisk; my new '128GB Ultra SDXC UHS-I memory card' means I won't have to worry about running out of space, no matter how many photos or videos we take. It's so vital for capturing everything without interruption. As for the tripod, I'm still on the fence about carrying a full-sized one, but seeing that 'pink flexible tripod' for smartphones made me think about how handy a compact one could be for group shots or even some stable video clips. My Canon PowerShot SX730 HS already has an impressive '40x Optical Zoom,' which is brilliant for catching details from afar, but a tripod could add another layer of creativity. Now, for the main event: 'snap ideas' for our bowling adventure! It’s all about candid shots. Forget posing – true fun happens when no one is looking directly at the camera. Action Shots: Try to catch friends mid-throw, celebrating a strike, or even their funny reactions to a gutter ball. The camera's fast shutter speed will be your best friend here. Emotional Reactions: Focus on faces! The joy of a strike, the concentration before a roll, or the playful despair after a miss. These make for the most authentic memories. Team Huddle: During breaks, capture your group chatting, laughing, or strategizing. These are the moments that truly show your bond. Details: Don't forget the little things! Close-ups of bowling shoes, the ball in motion, scoreboards, or even the vibrant colors of the alley itself. These add to the story. But 'snap ideas' aren't just for bowling! Think about other hangouts with friends. Cafe Catch-ups: Capture friends sipping coffee, deep in conversation, or candidly laughing over a shared pastry. The soft lighting in cafes often makes for beautiful, warm photos. Park Adventures: Whether it’s a picnic, a walk, or just lounging on the grass, parks offer endless opportunities for natural light photography. Try wide shots to include the scenery, or close-ups of friends interacting. Home Gatherings: Game nights, movie nights, or just chilling – these relaxed settings are perfect for capturing genuine comfort and camaraderie. The 'Before & After': Maybe a 'before' shot of everyone looking fresh, and an 'after' shot where everyone is delightfully tired and happy after a long day of fun. Perspective Play: Get low, get high, shoot through objects. The '40x Optical Zoom' on my Canon could be fun for capturing expressions from a distance without disturbing the moment. Or use it to zoom in on a small detail that tells a bigger story. As the photographer friend, remember to be discreet sometimes. You want to capture natural moments, not staged ones. Also, don't forget to jump into some photos yourself! Hand your camera to a friend or use a self-timer if you decide to get that flexible tripod. Reviewing photos together afterwards is another fun activity, bringing back all those awesome memories. Capturing these 'snap ideas' is all about celebrating friendship and making sure those fleeting moments become cherished keepsakes.
