POV: MOTHERHOOD ✨🥰
Birthday at this stage of life looks very different. 🤍🎂
No need for a big celebration.
No need for an expensive gift.
Just a few hours of "me time" with a dear friend after what feels like forever.
I finally wore something that wasn't picked because it's breastfeeding-friendly.
Carried a small bag instead of a diaper bag.
Finished a meal while it was still hot.
Even used my earpiece again. 😂
It reminded me that I'm still me... not just "Mommy."
But the best part?
Walking through the door and hearing...
"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" 🥹❤️
The hugs. The smiles. The excitement to see me.
That's still my favourite part of every single day.
Thank you, 我的朋友, for making this birthday so special.🤍
Celebrating a birthday as a mother truly shifts perspective. It’s not about grand parties or lavish gifts anymore, but cherishing those rare moments of freedom and connection. I remember once managing to dress up not for convenience or breastfeeding but just for the joy of feeling like myself again. Carrying a small bag instead of the usual diaper bag was surprisingly refreshing, and completing a meal while it was still warm felt like a small victory worth savoring. One of the most beautiful parts of motherhood is the deep love and excitement shining in your child's eyes when you return home. Hearing "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" echo through the house is an irreplaceable sound that warms the heart and reinvigorates your spirit. It’s a reminder that beneath the roles and responsibilities, you're still "you," a person deserving of joy and care. Taking time for "me time" with close friends can feel like a breath of fresh air amidst the whirlwind of daily motherhood tasks. Catching up, sharing stories, and simply being yourself without the constant multitasking creates a balance that supports mental and emotional well-being. These moments help sustain the energy needed to be present and loving for your children. Motherhood brings a beautiful yet challenging transformation. While the chaotic days may sometimes blur your own needs into the background, intentional pauses to appreciate your identity and relationships can be transformative. The peaceful meal, the forgotten earpiece, and the loving hugs at day’s end become treasured highlights. Embracing these small moments has helped me find joy and reaffirm who I am beyond being "Mommy."
