Payday Reflections
Payday came, and that meant the notebooks, calculator, and computer were spread out on the table after dinner. What used to feel overwhelming now feels empowering.
Using the 70-20-10 budget rule has helped me gain real control over my finances. I know exactly where each dollar is going. I can watch balances on credit cards and loans go down, decide what extra I can throw at them each month, and still make sure I’m paying myself first.
Seeing my savings grow, especially knowing it’s sitting in a high-yield savings account, brings a level of peace of mind I didn’t have before. There’s something incredibly reassuring about having a plan, sticking to it, and watching progress happen in real time.
Budgeting isn’t about restriction for me anymore. It’s about intention, stability, and freedom.
What budget rule do you follow?
