✨Let’s talk Doulingo!✨
If you were like me and had no idea what it was, well doulingo is an education app that teaches you different languages through different methods that are taught by a game aspect.
⭐️ match up the words
⭐️ fill in the blank
⭐️ repeat the words
⭐️ type in the sentence in said language
its a very cute and fun way of learning a new language! I’m currently learning French. Je suis Lyssa. I have always wanted to learn French but I never got the chance to do so till now. Lemon8 has allowed me to find this app and I’m already so obsessed with it! And I’m learning so much in a short time! I can learn when I feel like it and I don’t feel forced to do it and I can learn at my own pace.
What I do wish that it had is:
❗️American sign language
❗️voice recognition for ALL kinds of voices
❗️reward points to use towards a trip to somewhere where you are learning the language of.
I am a huge advocate for ASL even though I may not know a lot of it but I do know some to communicate with people who do use it.
As for someone with a disability and my voice is not as clear as it should be but I do think that they should have some kind of recognition system for people who speak not well and it learns how the people speaks.
The last thing isn’t a big thing but it would be cool if they did that and depending on the level of language you are, the better reward for a nice place that you can stay at if you wanted to.
But overall I am very obsessed with this app and I’m going to be using it every single day! Thank you 🍋8 for sharing this wonderful app with the world! I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn a new language!

Since I shared my initial thoughts on the main Duolingo app, I've had so many people ask about other Duolingo offerings! It turns out this vibrant app, often recognized by its colorful owl mascot (similar to the eye-catching Duolingo app icon), has even more to help us on our language journey, and it even helps little ones learn to read. Let's dive into some of these other fantastic features! First off, for those curious about how Duolingo supports early literacy, there's Duolingo ABC. While I don't personally use it, I've heard amazing things from parents. It's a completely separate, free app specifically designed for children aged 3-8 to learn reading and writing in English. It transforms the often-challenging process of learning to read into a series of fun, interactive games and stories. Kids learn phonics, sight words, and develop their vocabulary in a playful environment – much like how the main app teaches languages through game-like methods. It's available on Android, making it accessible to many families. If you're looking for an engaging way for a child to learn to read, or exploring an alternative to traditional reading apps, Duolingo ABC seems like a brilliant choice that leverages Duolingo's proven gamified learning approach. Then, for those of us already deep into language learning, Duolingo offers some incredible podcasts. I've recently started exploring the Duolingo French Podcast, and it's fantastic for complementing my in-app lessons. They also have an English podcast, which is geared towards Spanish or French speakers learning English. These podcasts tell engaging stories, often featuring native speakers, which is invaluable for improving listening comprehension and getting accustomed to natural speech patterns and accents. They're usually short, digestible episodes that feel like a natural progression from the structured lessons. It's a perfect way to immerse yourself in the language while commuting or doing chores, and it really helps bridge the gap between learning vocabulary and understanding real-world conversations. And speaking of motivation, one of the most talked-about features among users is Duolingo Leagues. This is where the gamification aspect truly shines! As you complete lessons and earn XP (experience points), you climb leaderboards and compete against other learners in various leagues – from Bronze to Diamond. It's surprisingly addictive! Seeing my progress against others in my league really pushes me to keep up my daily French practice. It adds a social, competitive element that makes learning feel less like a chore and more like a game you want to win. It's a clever way they've integrated a competitive spirit to encourage consistent engagement. So, whether you're looking to master a new language on the main Duolingo app, help a child learn to read with Duolingo ABC, enhance your listening skills with their podcasts, or get motivated by climbing the Duolingo Leagues, there's truly something for everyone in the Duolingo family. It really makes language learning accessible, enjoyable, and incredibly well-rounded!
