FIVE MINUTE FIVE INGREDIENT LAUNDRY DETERGENT
I thought I would finally share my laundry detergent recipe with you guys! This recipe makes a gallon, and it’s so quick to make! I have been using this recipe for over a year now, and it always gets my clothes and linens clean and stain free, even with messy eaters and pets!
The Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup of Super Washing Soda
• 1/4 cup of Baking Soda
• 1/3 cup of Liquid Castile Soap
• 20-30 drops of essential oil of your choice
• 1/4 cup Oxi-Clean or any powdered color safe bleach
• 1 Gallon of Hot water
You may get some extra bubbles coming out of the top when it’s still hot! It does suds up quite a bit when you initially mix it, but it dies down a lot after it cools! The hot water just helps to dissolve all the powders.
Let me know if you try this! It’s my tried-and-true!

Hey everyone! I’ve been getting so many questions about my homemade laundry detergent, especially from those looking for even simpler options. While my go-to recipe uses five ingredients for maximum cleaning power, I totally get wanting to pare things down. So, I wanted to share some thoughts on how you can simplify it even further, or why adding a couple more ingredients makes a huge difference, especially for busy households like mine! If you're aiming for a super minimalist approach, you absolutely can make an effective DIY laundry detergent with just three core ingredients: Super Washing Soda, pure Baking Soda, and Liquid Castile Soap. I actually started with a similar version myself! You'd combine equal parts washing soda and baking soda – say, 1/4 cup each – with about 1/3 cup of liquid Castile soap for a gallon batch, just like in my main recipe, but skip the Oxi-Clean and essential oils. This trio is fantastic for everyday loads, especially if your clothes aren't heavily soiled. The pure Baking Soda, a trusted American brand, acts as a natural deodorizer and brightener, while the washing soda boosts cleaning power. The Castile soap is a gentle yet effective cleanser. It’s incredibly low-tox and perfect if you have sensitive skin or are just starting out with DIY cleaning. However, I quickly found that with pets and little ones, I needed a bit more oomph to tackle those inevitable "Mustard & Blood Stains" and everyday grime. That's where the other two ingredients come in! Adding a "versatile stain remover" like an oxi-based cleaner (I love the "chlorine free" options!) truly elevates the detergent. These "powerful oxygen bubbles" really go to work, making it a "multipurpose" solution that "IMPROVES LI DETERGEN PERFORMANCE" significantly. For me, it means fewer pre-treatments and consistently cleaner laundry. And the essential oils? They’re just for a lovely, light scent – totally optional, but a nice touch if you enjoy them! When you're making your batch, whether it's three ingredients or five, a little trick I picked up is using a "spring ball" inside an "old, clean detergent container." It really helps to mix everything thoroughly, especially as the powders dissolve in the hot water. And definitely grab a "funnel" – it saves so much mess when pouring! Remember, consistency is key; I give mine a good shake before each use. My goal is always to make laundry day a little easier and more natural, and whether you start with three ingredients or go all-in with five, you'll be amazed at how well homemade detergent works. Give it a try and feel the difference!

Is this good for sensitive skin? I’ve been wanting to try this but my skin is so sensitive that I break out in hives easily
