What makes the Catan 'universe' so rich is its expandability. Once you've mastered the base game, there are incredible CATAN EXTENSION packs, like the 5-6 Player set, which immediately opens up the game to larger groups, adding more hexes and making the board even grander. Then there are the major expansions that completely change the gameplay. CATAN CITIES & KNIGHTS is a personal favorite, introducing knights to defend against barbarians and adding new commodities, making city upgrades and progress cards crucial. And if you're craving exploration, the SEAFARERS expansion lets you build ships and discover new islands, significantly broadening the scope of the game and adding new objectives to sail towards. Each expansion offers a fresh take on the classic mechanics, inviting you to trade, progress, sail, build, develop, discover, settle, and defend in new and exciting ways.
