I never finish the books I start… 🥹

1/11 Edited to

... Read moreI totally understand the struggle of starting numerous books but rarely finishing them. It happens to me often, especially when the story just doesn’t grab my attention or when life gets busy. Sometimes I find myself giving up on a book after just a few chapters, wondering if I’ll ever make it through. One thing that has helped me is choosing books that truly spark my curiosity or align with my current mood. For example, if I’m looking for excitement, I might pick a thrilling book with gripping scenes like ‘Shots fired left and right people dropped like flies’ from a story with intense action. Imagery such as a mysterious character with forest green hair and golden eyes, dressed uniquely in a black suit, sparks my imagination and keeps me hooked. Another tip is setting small goals, such as reading for just 10-15 minutes each day, instead of overwhelming myself with unrealistic expectations. Breaking the reading into manageable chunks makes it easier to keep going. I also find engaging with reading communities like #bookrecommendations and #booktok can motivate me. Sharing thoughts and finding new reads recommended by others gives me a sense of connection and excitement about my reading journey. Finally, allowing myself to switch between genres keeps things fresh. If a book doesn’t capture me in the first few chapters, it’s okay to pause or pick something else without guilt. Reading should bring joy, not stress. If you’re struggling to finish the books you start, know you’re not alone. Find what excites you, set realistic reading goals, and don’t hesitate to explore diverse genres. Happy reading!
