I learned about it for the first time on this car trip! I was able to go around two karsts and two limestone caves.
Akiyoshido is the beauty of the entrance no matter what! I was really overwhelmed and there was a great sense of excitement. Tickets are on sale from 9: 00, and you can enter with the first ride at 8: 45 on standby.
Because it goes around from Akiyoshido, the parking lot is about 500 yen a day, and if you go around from Akiyoshidai, there is a free parking lot. Both the limestone cave and the karst are very impressive, so don t forget your hat because the karst is sunny!
秋芳洞と秋吉台カルストは、実際に訪れてこそその魅力が伝わるスポットです。私が訪れた際は、朝早く8時45分にチケット販売開始9時の少し前から並び、一番乗りで入洞できました。これにより混雑を避け、ゆったりと静かな雰囲気の中で神秘的な鍾乳洞の中を見学でき、鍾乳石の繊細な造形や広大な空間を存分に楽しめました。 秋吉台のカルスト台地は3億年前のサンゴ礁が雨水によって浸食されてできた独特の地形で、その広大さに圧倒されます。歩く際には日差しが強いことが多いので帽子や日焼け止めを用意し、ゆったりと時間をかけて散策するのがおすすめです。駐車場は秋芳洞周辺は有料ですが、秋吉台の無料駐車場を利用すれば経済的に旅が楽しめます。 また、秋芳洞周辺には山口県の豊かな自然や歴史を感じられる施設やカフ ェも点在しており、一日中楽しめるエリアです。カルストと鍾乳洞という異なる自然のダイナミズムを一度の旅で体感できるのは貴重な体験になるので、歴史や自然風景が好きな方はぜひ訪れてみてください。写真で見るのとは一味違う、実際の「音」や「空気」「ひんやり感」も旅の醍醐味です。
