Today was a really cool day..

Went fishing, had an eagle fly maybe 20 ft above us and chill up in a tree. THAN Alex’s fish didn’t make it and he swooped down, grabbed the fish and went in the tree in front of us to eat it. To top it off she has a very large male baby who was flying around squawking because he was hungry. She saved him half and flew after him when she was done. It was amazing! 🦅 #eagle #fish #nature #maine

While casting lines and enjoying the serene environment, I witnessed an incredible display of wildlife behavior—a majestic eagle flying just a few feet above us before settling in a nearby tree. The real highlight was when the eagle swooped down to snatch a fish that my friend Alex caught but didn’t keep. Watching her carry the fish back to her perch and then feed her large, vocal eaglet was touching and remarkable. This experience reminded me how important it is to respect and observe wildlife from a distance, appreciating their natural habits without interference. Eagles, with their impressive size and hunting skills, play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance. Seeing the mother eagle’s care and feeding of her young added a profound emotional layer to the trip, increasing my appreciation for these magnificent birds. Fishing in areas populated by wildlife like eagles can offer unique educational opportunities and moments of connection with nature's raw beauty. For anyone visiting Maine or similar regions, I highly recommend taking the time to simply watch and learn from your surroundings. You might be fortunate enough to see extraordinary wildlife moments that will stay with you forever.
