I started researching natural ways to clean my stomach and intestines, looking for effective clean gut home remedies that weren't too complicated. That's when I stumbled upon the idea of a natural colon flush, and specifically, the salt water cleanse! You might have heard of terms like 'colonic irrigation' or 'flushing out your colon,' but what I'm talking about is an accessible, natural method you can do right in your own kitchen. It's essentially a gentle way to help clean my intestines and promote better digestive function. The goal isn't just a quick fix, but to kickstart a healthier gut environment. My absolute favorite way to do this is with a simple salt water and lemon flush. It's incredibly straightforward, and I’ve seen such positive results. The main things you'll use to cleanse your stomach are just three ingredients: high-quality Himalayan salt, fresh lemon, and warm water. Here’s exactly how I do a salt water flush: First, I gather my ingredients: about two teaspoons of unrefined Himalayan salt (this is key for its mineral content!), the juice of half a fresh lemon, and about a liter (or four cups) of filtered, lukewarm water. I usually mix it all in a large mason jar with a lid so I can shake it really well. The warmth of the water helps the salt dissolve completely and also aids in the process. It's crucial to drink this on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. I try to drink the entire mixture within 5-10 minutes. Yes, it tastes salty, but the lemon helps! After drinking, I usually lie down for a bit or do some gentle movements. My experience is that it starts working within 30 minutes to an hour, often prompting several bowel movements over the next couple of hours. This process helps to naturally flush your colon, clearing out accumulated waste and leaving you feeling incredibly light and clean. From my perspective, the benefits have been amazing. I feel less bloated, my energy levels are higher, and I simply feel 'lighter' and more refreshed.
