🍋 JB Furniture Shopping 🛋️
Back from our JB furniture hunt over the weekends and I have so many to share, especially for fellow BTO homeowners that are collecting your keys.
We went with our 3D renderings from our project manager in hand, and our main goal was to find a sofa and bed frame that fit our new home's aesthetic and our budget.
Here’s the full breakdown of our trip! 👇
✨Hatch: Their designs are absolutely stunning and super aesthetic, but we found the price point a bit high for us, and some sofas were just way too big for a BTO! BUT, they're currently having a clearance sale, so if their style is what you're after, definitely pop by! You might find a hidden gem.
✨Slumberland: I didn't go to Slumberland specifically, but I happened to walk past and found that the bed frame they offered was pretty close to what I wanted. Our main mission here was a bed frame, and the one we loved in Singapore was way out of our budget. Thankfully, Slumberland had a very similar design that was much more reasonably priced. Definitely a good stop if you're looking for quality beds without the hefty price tag.
✨Harvey Norman: Perfect for quick buys! If you're in a rush for electrical appliances or furniture, now is the time to go. They're having a Malaysia Day sale, which means promotions on top of their listed prices. It's a great spot to grab a good deal.
✨Nitori: I went in expecting more of a Japanese-style collection, but it felt quite modern. I tried out their recliner sofas, but a few of the motors weren't working properly, which made me a little hesitant about the quality.
💭Recliner Sofa Dilemma! 🤔

✨Better Home: We loved this place! Their sofas are so nice and comfortable, with a huge range of fabrics to choose from. However, we found their prices were a bit higher than the other stores we visited.
✨V Haus: MY ULTIMATE FAVOURITE! 🏆
The moment we walked in, it felt like the shop was custom-made for our BTO. The designs were so closely aligned with our 3D rendering, and the prices were well within our budget. We'll most likely be getting our sofa from here.
✨Boo: This was a great place to look for our dining table and an adjustable work table for my husband. The wood quality was top-notch, and the prices were quite reasonable. We were really interested in an adjustable table, but the motor only comes with a one-year warranty, which made me a bit hesitant. The salesperson assured us that if the motor ever breaks, they can change the adjustable base or even swap it out for aluminium legs, although it would then just look like a dining table.
⭐Pro-tip: If you're a fan of marble tables, you should definitely check this place out! They told us their marble tables are priced similarly to their sintered stone ones, so it's a great option to consider.

It’s worth asking shops like V Haus or Boo if they provide cross-border delivery packages, especially for bulky items. Secondly, warranties and after-sales service are crucial. Stores like Boo may offer adjustable tables with parts warranties, but check how long these last and what kind of support is provided if motors or mechanisms fail. Don’t hesitate to ask if they offer replacements or alternatives. Regarding Nitori, many wonder if it’s cheaper in JB versus Singapore. From my visit, the prices appear competitive, but quality control can vary, as seen with the recliner sofas I tested. If you’re eyeing recliners, try them out thoroughly in-store to ensure motors and functions work smoothly. For those leaning towards Japanese or modern minimalist styles, don’t miss Nitori but be mindful of product testing. Meanwhile, Harvey Norman is a great spot for combining furniture and electrical needs during sales like Malaysia Day. Lastly, if you love marble or sintered stone tables, stores in Taman Pelangi offer excellent choices with reasonable prices, which might surprise you given their quality. Planning your route to hit The Mall in Mid Valley Southkey, Taman Johor Jaya, and Taman Pelangi efficiently can maximize your shopping day. Always bring your home’s 3D renderings or measurements to ensure furniture fits well in your space.
