Honest review Glowtouring trend
Honestly, I will tell you the truth I really did not like the finish of this look.
I know it’s supposed to be glowing, but it just makes my pores look really big and I even use powder to try to set it a little bit.
I have dry skin so maybe it’s just not the right products for my skin, eventho it I feel like they are way too greasy for oily skin!
⭐️Overall rating: 3/5

The 'Glowtouring' trend has been everywhere on social media, promising a luminous, sculpted look with minimal effort. It's essentially an all-in-one product designed to prime, conceal, highlight, and even out skin tone, all while delivering a noticeable glow. The idea is to achieve that coveted dewy, 'lit-from-within' radiance without layering too many heavy products. But is this trend really 'worth it or no'? As someone with dry skin, I jumped on the Maybelline Perfector 4-in-1 bandwagon, hoping for that effortless glow. My experience, as you read, wasn't quite what I hoped for. The product, while seemingly great in concept, felt far too greasy for my dry skin, and instead of enhancing my complexion, it actually emphasized my pores. This highlights a crucial point about glow trends: what works for one person might not work for another, especially when skin types vary. For those with oily or combination skin, a product like the Maybelline Perfector 4-in-1 might offer a different experience. The greasiness I felt could translate to a comfortable, non-drying finish for someone who typically struggles with matte foundations or powders. It might provide that extra slip and luminosity without feeling heavy. However, even for oily skin, excessive shine can sometimes be an issue, so finding the right balance is key. If you have dry skin like mine and are chasing that glow, don't despair! There are many ways to achieve a healthy radiance without feeling greasy or accentuating pores. Here are some tips: Focus on Skincare First: A well-hydrated base is essential. Use a hydrating toner (like a cloudberry or similar brightening toner), a rich moisturizer, and even a facial oil before makeup. This creates a plump canvas that naturally reflects light. Targeted Highlighting: Instead of an all-over glow product, opt for liquid or cream highlighters applied sparingly to the high points of your face – cheekbones, brow bone, Cupid's bow, and the bridge of your nose. This gives a natural dimension without making your entire face look shiny. Primer Power: A gripping or illuminating primer can make a huge difference. Look for primers that promise a 'dewy' or 'radiant' finish without being overly shimmery. Mix and Match: If you love the idea of a glow product but find it too intense, try mixing a tiny drop with your regular foundation or moisturizer. This can sheer it out and give a more subtle, diffused radiance. Powder Smartly: To avoid accentuating pores or looking greasy, use powder only where absolutely necessary, like the T-zone, and opt for a finely milled, translucent powder applied with a light hand. Consider Brightening Gels/Exfoliants: For a true glow that comes from within, incorporating gentle exfoliating and brightening products (like those with fruit enzymes) into your skincare routine can significantly improve skin texture and radiance over time. This helps remove dull surface cells, revealing fresher, brighter skin underneath. Ultimately, the 'Glowtouring' trend and products like Maybelline's Perfector 4-in-1 are tools, not magic solutions. It's about understanding your skin and how different products interact with it. While my personal review for this particular product was a 3/5, that doesn't mean the trend or the product is bad – it just means it wasn't the right fit for my skin and my desired finish. Experiment, listen to your skin, and you'll find your perfect path to glow!
