... Read moreStepping into the light to share my personal recovery journey has been incredibly freeing, and I'm so glad you're here to be a part of it. My path has been anything but straightforward, marked by significant challenges like being an overdose survivor and navigating the complexities of bipolar 1. But through it all, the decision to embrace vulnerability and share my experiences has become a cornerstone of my healing. For me, the recovery process isn't just about abstaining; it's a holistic commitment to rebuilding my life, one day at a time. It involves intense therapy, self-reflection, and constantly learning new coping mechanisms. It’s also about confronting the underlying issues, such as my struggle with ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), which has presented its own unique set of obstacles in maintaining physical and mental health. Understanding and managing ARFID has been a crucial part of my journey, requiring patience and a dedicated approach to nutrition and body image in recovery. It’s a battle many don't talk about, but it's very real for me. Shared experiences have been a lifeline. When I first started speaking out, even on platforms like TikTok and through podcast appearances discussing harm reduction and my overdose survival story, I found an incredible community. The connection formed by realizing you’re not alone in your struggles is powerful. I've been incredibly fortunate to volunteer with organizations like End Overdose and become certified to train others on Narcan, turning my past pain into purpose. These opportunities to advocate and educate are not just about helping others; they deeply reinforce my own commitment to sobriety and recovery. Being a digital creator allows me to connect with people far and wide, sharing the raw, unfiltered truth of what recovery looks like. From my life in CT/NYC to the insights I gain daily, I aim to provide practical tips and honest reflections. It’s about building a supportive space where we can all learn and grow together. My latest focus is on delving deeper into the daily strategies that make recovery sustainable, from managing mental health flare-ups to finding joy in simple moments. I hope that by sharing my journey, including my experiences as a personal stylist before recovery became my main focus, I can offer a different perspective and inspire others on their own paths to healing.
