I've seen so many people rocking them, and I thought, 'Why not transform this Elara wig even further?' It was a bit nerve-wracking to take scissors to a brand new wig, but I grabbed my sharpest shears and carefully started sectioning. I watched a few tutorials first, of course, focusing on a U-shape cut for a feathered look, and it honestly changed the entire vibe of the wig. It felt so much more 'me' and added a unique flair that stands out from other Elara reviews. Now, let's talk about the wig itself, beyond my little DIY project. The Coco Vanilla Swirl color is absolutely stunning in person. It’s this beautiful blend of warm browns and creamy blondes that just melts together perfectly. It gives such a natural, sun-kissed look, and I've received so many compliments on the color alone. It truly is a showstopper, and I can see why it's so popular. The 24-inch length is also fantastic, offering that lovely long hair feel without being overwhelmingly dramatic. One thing I quickly discovered, as mentioned in my initial thoughts, is that this synthetic wig does tend to tangle. It’s not the worst I've experienced, but definitely something to be aware of. To combat this, I’ve found a few tricks that really help. First, a good quality wig spray is a lifesaver. I lightly mist it daily, especially on the ends, and then gently detangle with a wide-tooth comb, working from the tips upwards. I also try to avoid excessive friction, like rubbing it against my clothes too much. When I get home, I usually hang it up or lay it flat to prevent unnecessary tangles overnight. This routine has made a huge difference in maintaining its softness and keeping the tangles at bay. Another point was about it not being "big head friendly." This is a big one for me and something I wish I knew beforehand. While I can make it work, it definitely feels a bit snug. If you have a larger head circumference, you might find it a bit uncomfortable for all-day wear. It’s a shame because the style and color are so beautiful, but comfort is key for a wig you want to wear often. For those with average or smaller head sizes, you probably won't have this issue at all. Despite the tangling and the snug fit, the minimal shedding was a huge plus. Nothing worse than a wig that leaves hair everywhere! This one held up really well in that department. Overall, my 7.8/10 rating stands. The color and the ability to customize it with bangs make it a winner, but the tangling and fit issues did knock off a few points. If you're willing to put in a little extra effort for maintenance and have a head size that works with it, the Outre Elara in Coco Vanilla Swirl is definitely a wig worth trying, especially if you're feeling adventurous enough to add your own stylish bangs!
