You can’t pour from an empty cup

As a mom and nurse I understand how hard it is to make time for yourself.

These are a few ways that I try to wind down and reset.

Taking walks

Eating well

Reading books that I love

Diving into a good Bible study

Resting when I can

And just remembering how important it is to take care of me too.

Lately, I’ve been realizing how easy it is to keep giving while quietly running on empty. I answer messages even when I’m tired. I show up for people even when my own mind feels heavy. I keep pushing through because stopping feels unfamiliar. And somewhere in the middle of taking care of ev

Sis, You can’t pour from an empty cup.
✨ It’s Final Form Friday ✨ And let please reiterate for the folks in the back… I’m not your therapist, ho ! I’m done playing spiritual rehab for men who don’t even pray. This is for the overfunctioning women, the emotional lifeguards, the ones who always “held it down” while losing themselves.

Sometimes we get so used to being there for everyone else (our families, our friends, our partners) that we forget the woman holding it all together needs love, too. ❤️‍🩹 You are not selfish for choosing to rest. You are not lazy for needing time to heal. You are not “too much” for wanting to

Most people don’t burn out overnight. It happens slowly. You keep showing up. You keep giving. You keep carrying everyone else’s needs. Until one day, the things that used to feel easy suddenly feel impossible. Ignoring your emotional capacity doesn’t make you stronger—it makes you exhausted.

You can’t pour from an empty cup—even Jesus took time to rest. Don’t forget to refill your soul before serving others. 💧💛 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28 (NIV) Take a breath. Rest is holy. Your peace matters too. #FaithOverBurno
