When I started running seriously, I used to think that increasing mileage every day was the key to getting faster and stronger. But I quickly learned the hard way that doing more doesn't always mean better results. Your body needs a variety of stimuli to adapt effectively. Easy runs are essential for building a solid aerobic base. I keep these runs relaxed enough to recover while still developing endurance. This approach allowed me to avoid burnout and injury. Speed sessions, on the other hand, teach your body to move faster. By doing short, controlled reps, I improved my running mechanics and increased confidence at quicker paces. These days are mentally and physically challenging but rewarding. Strength and recovery days complete the cycle. Incorporating weight training, plyometrics, and prioritizing sleep helped me absorb the training load and gain the power needed to sustain speed and endurance. One tip I've found invaluable is to stop making every workout equally intense. The message "STOP MAKING UNDER WORKOUT TUE SAME" resonates with me—it’s about giving every day a specific purpose rather than repeating the same efforts. This diversity prevents plateaus and promotes balanced progress. Overall, training smarter by balancing different systems and respecting recovery has brought steady improvements. Remember, listen to your body and tailor your training plan accordingly. Stay consistent, purposeful, and enjoy the process—run like a girl, you got this!
