What I REALLY want

As a Mom of 3, a 5yr old, 3yr old, and a 6month old, this year for Mother’s Day what I want is pretty simple! As I grow older (25😉), I tend to want less as far as materialistic things and more peaceful experiences.

•I could always benefit from a nap

•Fulfilled coffee makes me happy (especially because it’s at my church)

•I love reading on my kindle

•Flowers will always make me happy

•Thrifting makes me appreciate things more and I love it!

Instead of wanting more possessions, I’ve found that the little peaceful moments are what recharge me. For example, a quiet nap when the kids are napping feels like a precious gift that reboots my energy for the day ahead. Coffee is another simple joy—especially when it’s enjoyed at a familiar, cozy place like my church’s coffee lab. The familiar atmosphere and friendly faces make the experience even more fulfilling beyond just the caffeine boost. I’ve also come to appreciate reading on my Kindle; it’s a peaceful escape that fits into my busy mom life easily, allowing me to enjoy stories whenever I can steal a moment for myself. Flowers have always brought me joy, adding beauty and freshness into our home, reminding me to slow down and appreciate simple natural gifts. Thrifting is another passion of mine—it’s not only about finding affordable items but also about the thrill of discovery and the appreciation for reusing and giving new life to treasures. A thrift store run, like one at Goodwill, feels like a mini-adventure and helps me feel connected to sustainable practices. These experiences—rest, a fulfilling cup of coffee, quiet reading time, fresh flowers, and thrifting—reflect how my desires have evolved. This Mother’s Day, I wish for moments that nurture my well-being and happiness rather than material things. I encourage other moms to reflect on what truly fills their hearts and to share those meaningful wishes with loved ones for a more memorable celebration.
