Diabetes affects how your body processes sugar, meaning insulin management becomes crucial. Common symptoms include excessive thirst, frequent urination, and fatigue, which are caused by high blood sugar levels. Educating yourself on carbohydrate counting can aid in meal planning, ensuring stable blood glucose levels. It's essential to work closely with healthcare professionals for an individualized management plan. Additionally, joining support groups can provide community and shared experiences. Many Type 1 diabetics use continuous glucose monitors for real-time glucose readings, helping to prevent dangerous lows and highs.
