My thoughts on this concealer

***Note: This is just my opinion, everyone is different and DIFFERENT PRODUCTS WORK FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE

Personally I’ve had a hard time finding a good concealer that matches my skin tone and isn’t too intense on my skin. I have very dry skin so things like concealer and foundation are really hard for me to find, just because it shows the dry skin flakes on my face. However, I’ve been loving the Kosas concealer so far. It does have some sticky texture, which I’m not a huge fan, just because I don’t love touching sticky stuff, BUT the shading match and coverage help cancel it out.

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard my initial thoughts, but let's dive a little deeper into why the Kosas Revealer Concealer has earned its spot as what's become, truly, my favorite concealer so far, especially for us dry-skinned folks. Finding a concealer that doesn't settle into fine lines or emphasize flaky patches is a never-ending quest, right? I've tried countless formulas from various brands available at Sephora, and often, they either offer great coverage but feel like concrete, or they're hydrating but barely conceal a thing. The Kosas Revealer Concealer, available at Sephora, strikes a really impressive balance. The 'sticky' texture I mentioned initially? I've actually learned to work with it, and honestly, it contributes to its staying power without drying out my under-eyes. My secret for application, especially on dry skin: always ensure your skin is well-moisturized and prepped. I use a hydrating eye cream first, let it sink in, and then apply a tiny dot of the concealer. I find dabbing it gently with a damp beauty sponge or even just my ring finger works wonders. The warmth from my finger helps it melt into the skin beautifully, providing that seamless, skin-like finish. Avoid dragging or rubbing, as that can disturb the product and highlight dryness. Another aspect I adore is how it acts more like a skincare-makeup hybrid. It's packed with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, and caffeine, which genuinely feel like they're doing something good for my skin throughout the day. It doesn't just cover; it seems to visibly brighten and smooth over time. For dark circles, which are a constant battle for me, a slightly peachier shade under my foundation, followed by my true-match shade, works wonders. When it comes to shade matching at Sephora, don't be afraid to swatch a few. Their staff are usually super helpful, and a good trick is to swatch a small amount on your jawline or inner wrist, then check it in natural light. For under-eyes, I usually go one shade lighter than my foundation for that brightening effect, but for spot concealing, I stick to my exact skin tone. The Sephora app can also be a great tool for virtual try-ons or checking reviews from people with similar skin tones. And it's not just for under-eyes! I've been using this to conceal small blemishes or redness around my nose, and it blends out so smoothly without looking cakey. For those days where I want minimal makeup, a little bit of this concealer, a swipe of mascara, and I'm good to go. It truly simplifies my routine. If you're someone who's been on the hunt for a high-performing concealer that caters to dry skin and offers a natural, radiant finish – seriously, give the Kosas Revealer Concealer at Sephora a try. It might just become your favorite concealer too.
