Having spent a fun-filled weekend in Fort Myers myself, I can say it's an ideal destination for a girls' getaway that combines relaxation, great food, and vibrant local culture. Starting your trip at the Luminary Hotel offers stunning views and easy access to downtown attractions, making it convenient to explore on foot. I particularly enjoyed grabbing coffee at Dean’s Street Coffee and wandering around The Franklin Shops, where you can find unique boutiques and local crafts. When it comes to dining, Ella Mae’s chicken and waffles truly lived up to the hype with its perfect blend of crispy and savory flavors. Another highlight was Ford's Garage, where the gourmet burgers satisfied our cravings after a day in the sun. Fort Myers Beach itself offers a charming atmosphere, with the farmers market on Saturdays providing fresh local produce, artisanal goods, and breakfast treats. Renting chairs and umbrellas on the beach made lounging comfortable, and indulging in chocolate shoppe ice cream was the perfect sweet ending before heading back to town. For nightlife, First Street comes alive with live music, street performers, and a lively bar scene. Reservations are a must on weekends, but the vibrant energy is worth it, and venues like Bay Street Yard serve up great vibes and cocktails. On Sunday, exploring the River District farmers market gave us a taste of the community spirit and fresh local fare. The mix of Italian and Japanese flavors at Oise restaurant was a memorable dinner experience, complementing the relaxed pool time during the day. Aside from the itinerary highlights, I recommend squeezing in a visit to Sanibel Island or the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve for a dose of nature and scenic views. Coconut Point Mall offers excellent shopping options, and the monthly flea markets add an adventurous treasure-hunting element to your trip. This blend of beach, food, music, and shopping truly makes Fort Myers a versatile and exciting spot for a girls' weekend away.
