Some faves as of late!!

Since moving to Fairfield County, I've truly enjoyed exploring the diverse and flavorful food scene here in Connecticut. One of my standout experiences has been trying the authentic French dishes at Restaurant L'Ostal. Their pillowy crab gnocchi is not only delicious but also captures the essence of French culinary tradition right here in the area. In the world of baked goods, Sea Salt Baking Co, a delivery-only cookie company, has impressed me with their outstanding treats. Their cookies are some of the best I've tasted locally, highlighting the growing specialty food culture in the region. Along with these, Harborview’s cookies and croissants in Black Rock offer a taste of freshly baked goodness that keeps me coming back. For something casual yet mouthwatering, Kneads in Westport, soon opening a new spot in Fairfield, makes a mean sandwich that’s become a quick favorite. On the sweeter side, I can't get enough of the peanut butter cookies from The Pantry grocery store in Fairfield – their balance of sweetness and texture is perfect. While sushi isn’t my daily go-to, Sushi Jin in Westport has earned its reputation for great quality, especially as takeout, though it can be a bit pricey. Not far from Fairfield County, Small State Provisions in Avon makes an amazing jambon beurre that foodies should definitely try when they’re in the area. For brunch lovers, Arden’s in Rowayton is the place to be. Their French onion grilled cheese paired with an olive oil muffin creates a comforting and memorable meal. What I love most about Fairfield County’s food scene is the mix of cultures and artisanal craftsmanship that come together in these local gems. Whether you’re a fan of classic comfort foods, international flavors, or artisan baked goods, there’s something special to discover here. Food exploration in this area has become a rewarding experience, and I recommend anyone visiting or living nearby to dive into these favorites!
