🗝️✨ Kingdom Hearts at Oogie Boogie Bash 2025! 🪲🍭🎃

I went to Oogie Boogie Bash dressed as Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2, but the day did not start like a fairytale 😅

💥 I had to restyle my wig in the hotel the night before.

💥 Brand new contact lens? Ripped the morning of, so they were trashed 💔

💥 Weather? Torrential rain. I had to wear a plastic bag over my head to save my wig

💥 Bought a poncho in the park... but the hood didn’t fit over the wig 😩 so still had to rock the plastic bag.

BUT once the rain cleared in the late afternoon everything changed ✨

🔑 I found all the 70th Anniversary Keyholes with the limited edition 70th Anniversary Key hidden around Disneyland, like I was actually Sora, sealing the keyholes in different worlds 🗝️

💙 I finally got to meet King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy in their Kingdom Hearts Costumes.

So happy I was able to fulfill a life long dream of cosplaying as Sora in the park, and the added bonus of the keyholes and Kingdom Hearts characters made it all the more worth while.

... Read moreWalking through Disneyland, especially during a special event like Oogie Boogie Bash, dressed as a beloved character like Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2, is an absolute dream come true for any fan. For many of us, the idea of a 'Kingdom Hearts Oogie Boogie fight' is more about the immersive experience and the thrill of seeing our favorite characters in a themed environment, rather than a literal battle. While you won't typically find Sora battling Heartless alongside Oogie Boogie himself, the event's atmosphere, filled with villains and spooky delights, perfectly complements the adventurous spirit of Kingdom Hearts. It truly feels like stepping into one of those distinct worlds from the game, especially when you're seeking out characters. To make your own Disneyland Kingdom Hearts experience truly magical, it's worth planning ahead. Beyond the special events, keep an eye out for Kingdom Hearts merchandise in shops, especially in areas like Fantasyland or World of Disney. Sometimes, you might even spot subtle nods to the series within the park's decor or music. Meeting characters like King Mickey, Goofy, and Donald Duck in their iconic Kingdom Hearts attire, as I was lucky enough to do, is a rare and cherished moment. These interactions are often brief but incredibly memorable, so have your camera ready and a heartfelt message for them! If you're considering partaking in Disneybounding or cosplay for an event like Oogie Boogie Bash, here are a few tips I learned from my own adventure. First, always check the park's costume guidelines to ensure your outfit is compliant. Comfort is key, as you'll be doing a lot of walking. Pay attention to the weather forecast – my experience with unexpected rain taught me the importance of having a rain-friendly backup plan, even if it means stylishly rocking a clear poncho over your Keyblade! Also, don't forget practical elements like comfortable shoes and a reliable bag for essentials. Including details like a replica Keyblade or a specific wig can really elevate your look and make you feel more connected to the character you're portraying. Finding photo opportunities that evoke the spirit of Kingdom Hearts is another fun aspect. Posing in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle or iconic attractions with your character can create truly epic shots. And remember, the joy is in the journey – even with minor mishaps like a torn contact lens or a wig needing last-minute restyling, the magic of being in Disneyland, surrounded by fellow fans and beloved characters, makes every moment worth it. It’s about creating those core memories and living out your own fairytale, Kingdom Hearts style!
