What I only train in flat/barefoot shoes!
training in flat shoes is GAME CHANGER.. first off, your feet move while working out so your shoes should allow for that as well!
I don't personally like training barefoot (sometimes I will just lift in my socks) but I usually turn to a flat and wide shoe for my workouts for a few different reasons..
1) Barefoot training enhances your body's awareness of its position and movement in space, leading to better balance and coordination.
2) Barefoot training can improve posture and reduce strain on joints and muscles.
3) Working out barefoot strengthens the small muscles in the feet and ankles, leading to increased stability and reduced risk of injuries
4) Improved your body mechanics, making it easier to move naturally and efficiently.
If you've never tried workout out barefoot, I definitely encourage you to! Or try some flat shoes such as converse, vans, or my favorite- flux!

Training in flat shoes or barefoot can significantly improve your overall workout performance. When you wear shoes that allow your feet to move freely, you engage more of the small muscles in your feet and ankles. This not only strengthens these muscles but also reduces your risk of common injuries, as a stable base is crucial for efficient movement. Additionally, staying aware of your body's position enhances your balance and coordination, leading to better posture and less strain on joints and muscles. If you're hesitant about barefoot training, consider beginning with flat shoes like Converse or Vans, which provide the necessary support while enabling natural foot movement. Many athletes swear by this style of training to achieve optimal body mechanics, making their movements more natural and efficient. Moreover, individuals new to this method often notice improved grip and stability, which can enhance performance in various workouts, from lifting weights to cardio exercises. Experimenting with different types of flat footwear may pave the way to a more enjoyable and effective fitness journey!
