This book will pull you in from the very first page! It starts off with a different POV than the rest of the book and just pulls you in. I strongly believe that it is always the small towns that have the most secrets and the town in this book is FILLED with them!
This book was fast past and got me out of my current slump. It’s fast and thrilling, so are the rest of the books in this series. This series can be read alone the books just relate cities not characters so it won’t be confusing if you read out of order!

The emotional struggle of a mother, Sonya, trying to defend her son against murder charges forms the heart of this thriller. As she delves deeper into the case, she discovers a web of lies and dark secrets that complicate the truth. This narrative explores themes of familial loyalty, the complexity of truth in a small town, and the quest for justice amidst confusion and betrayal. Readers will appreciate the suspenseful pacing that keeps them engaged throughout the story. The dual narrative perspective pulls readers in from the first page, providing insight into both the mother and her son. Small towns often hide the darkest secrets, and this tale reinforces that belief, showcasing how easily innocence can be shattered in a moment of desperation. It’s not just a quest for innocence but a profound exploration of the relationships and societal pressures that those involved in such trials face. Additionally, this book stands out as part of a series that allows readers to engage with captivating stories that can be read independently. Each installment connects through the setting rather than characters, making it perfect for fans of fast-paced thrillers who appreciate a well-crafted narrative filled with unpredictable twists.
