Ok wow this was like pretty little liars mixed with big little lies. This starts off describing a typical gated community. Men, working and holding the forts down. Women, gathering together daily, drinking, gossiping. Being real country club couples.
Then, a prominent citizen of this community is murdered. Everyone quickly starts metaphorically getting their pitchforks out, to accuse one of their own community members and friend. It snowballs into a modern-day witch hunt. Where everyone’s secrets begin to surface and no one is innocent.
This showed how quickly friends turn on each other the second something bad happens and how quickly they will go back on their actions.
I questioned every character. I stayed on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was coming next.
There's quite a few moments of very well timed comedic relief. There’s also a few moments where you will be like, “who tf did if!?!?”
This author has been rapidly binged by myself this week and his books have yet to disappoint, so I highly recommend!
